This has been a busy week at our house. The kids are back at school.
Monday was Hans-Ilkka's first day of kindergarten at Christie Elementary. His teacher is Mrs. Fields who taught Sara last year.
Sara started 1st grade with Mrs. Ransom who was Keziah's first grade teacher.
Keziah started 3rd grade with Mrs. Young.
Ammarita is in 6th Grade at Carpenter Middle School.
Lawry is in 8th grade at Carpenter, but is taking honors geometry at Vines High School.
Timo is hanging out at home.
Lawry and the little kids all have to be to school at 7:45. Alas their schools are 20 minutes apart. On the mornings Robert was home, we shared duties, but on the other days I had to drop the little kids off early. Most of the week Ammarita tagged along for an hour so that she would not have to be home alone, but on Friday my friend and neighbor let her come to their house, practice the bassoon, and walk to school with their son. I was sad not to drop off Hans on the first day, but he did not seem to care. Lawry had definite preferences because he thinks Robert drives slow. He has not figured out that I drive faster because I leave later. Robert does not need to drive fast because he leaves plenty of time for putting along 15 mph under the posted speed.
Little kids walking to school. Keziah couldn't wait for a picture!

Coming soon: Timo Trouble. I am going to chase him around with a camera catching him in acts of destruction.
I can't believe Hans-Ilkka is in kindergarten. I love his first day of school pictures! What a good-looking kid. How does he feel about being in school all day? I'm glad Bonden just had half a day; all day would have been so hard for him.
ReplyDeleteSara's hair is getting so long.
Is it so strange to be home with just Timo? I bet that's a huge adjustment after a busy summer!
